Billy Charles Miller 81, of Abilene passed away September 4, 2017. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel in Cisco, Texas. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Nimrod Cemetery, FM 2526 Cisco, Texas with military honors under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.

 

Billy Charles Miller was born in Cisco, Texas on June 18, 1936 to Albert Forrest Miller and Agnes (Slatton) Miller. He grew up attending Wesley Methodist Church and attending Cisco school where he played basketball and football. He was in the class of 1955. He worked at J.T. Richardson’s service station for several years. He was in the Army from 1959 to 1961, stationed in Germany for 18 months.

 

He married Bonnie Williams in Cisco in 1964, and they lived in Midland before moving to Abilene in 1965. He worked at Key City Vending, Mrs. Baird’s Bakery, Coca Cola, and Abtex Beverage before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Abilene Gospel Tabernacle in Abilene and attended the “Old Men’s Meeting” each week in Abilene.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie of Abilene. He is also survived by a son, Terry Miller of Longview, and three daughters, Susie Sullivan and husband Alvin of High Island, Texas, Tresa Miller Tutt and husband Cleve of Tuscola, Texas, and Tina Miller Kollbaum and Gregg of Cabot, Arkansas. Eight grandchildren, Chad Sullivan, Tara Sullivan Atwood and husband Josh, Kailee Fowler, Colin Fowler, Lindsey Tutt, Lexi Tutt, Libby Tutt, and Brady Miller. Three great grandchildren, Travis Atwood, Ava Atwood and Grayson Cole. Two nephews, Coy Wayne Miller and Rick Miller and three nieces, Darlene Miller Bunn, Kathy Byrd, and Jodie Miller Krevanik and their children and grandchildren. And many dear cousins and friends. He is also survived by a sister in law Betty Sugg and children Ronald Sugg and Kayla Williams and their children and grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister in law, Coy and Peggy Miller, and his in laws.

 

Billy was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. He loved to garden, fish, cook, and sing. He loved sports especially the ones his grandkids were playing.

He prayed every single night for everyone on his very long list. He trusted in God and loved being with his family and friends.
