Drucilla Ann (Townsend) Blanding

Drucilla Blanding passed quietly into her Father's arms on April 18, 2017, in Eastland, Texas.  She was born December 17, 1939 in Ranger, the third child of Andrew Jackson Townsend and Fannie Mae (Warren).  She lived most of her early years in the Cisco area.

In December, 1957, she married Rex Blanding in Cisco, and became a homemaker and mother.  After her marriage ended she attended Cisco Jr. College and received her certification as an LVN.  She spent many years as a nurse at multiple facilities in the Cisco area and truly enjoyed caring for people and helping them through difficult times.

Drucilla was a truly gifted singer and artist.  With the help of her pastel pencils she could turn ordinary white paperboard in a beautiful portrait or landscape.  She enjoyed crocheting, caring for her gardens, and her family and friends.  Most of all she loved her Lord.

She will be fondly remembered by her friends Chloe and Belle.

Drucilla was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob Townsend, sister Myra Scarborough, and sister Darlene Crumpler.

She is survived by her son Rex Blanding and wife Beverly of Brentwood, Missouri, daughter Athena Blanding of Arlington, and son Leo Blanding and wife Sheila of Courtland, Kansas, her brother Rex Townsend and wife Phyllis of Burleson, and brother-in-law Ronny Crumpler of Abilene, also her grandson Keith and wife Kristin, granddaughter Kayla, grandson Kameron, grandson Lowell and wife Julie, and granddaughter Susan and husband Casey, and eight great-grandchildren - Lily, Brandon, Seth, Nikolai, Vivi, Eli, Alice and Jonathan.

The family suggests memorial tributes for Alzheimer's or dementia research, or to the Cisco Cemetery Association. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 22, 2017 at Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco with Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be Friday evening 5 until 7.
