Joe Alvin Thames

Joe Alvin Thames 79, of Cisco went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2017. He was born July 28, 1937 in Brownfield, Texas to Richard Wesley and Laura Marie (Rowden) Thames.  Joe held a BS Degree and practiced pharmacy for over 50 years. He married Ellen Irene Hodge on March 22, 1963 in Odessa, Texas. He was known for being easy going, fun to be around, and his kidding sense of humor. He loved to go fishing, camping, and hunting. He loved traveling on bus tours around the country with his bride of 54 years.  He always served the Lord in church and adored his Calvary and Temple Baptist Church families. His smile could light up a room; he loved his family, loved people, loved to laugh, and loved Jesus most of all.

Survivors are his wife Ellen of Cisco, his children; Becky Jo Bridwell and husband Keith of Hereford, TX. Martha Ann Robbins and husband Bob of Sao Paulo, Brasil, Kelli Dawn Shelton and husband Rusty of Ruidoso, NM., and Richard Harvey Thames of Amarillo, TX. Brother: John Thames and wife Sheila of Hereford, TX. Sister: Betty Hillis and husband Herman of Louisiana. Grandchildren: Kris Bridwell and wife Lacey, Hunter Bridwell, Parker Bridwell, DJ Robbins, Emmy Robbins, Levi Shelton, Cheyenne Shelton. Great Grandchildren: Bennett Bridwell and Holland Bridwell and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Cisco on east FM 2526 officiated by Reverend Danny Reid under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco.  Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 Conrad Hilton, Cisco, Texas 76437.
