Velma May (Patterson) Hornsby

Velma May Hornsby 80, of Eastland passed away May 16, 2017. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 18th at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Michael Gentry and Reverend Craig Rhoton. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation with Family and Friends will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Velma was born May 22, 1936 in Condit, Ohio to parents Raymond Edward and Lois Mary (Osborne) Pattison. She married Leland Lane Hornsby September 1, 1955 in Marengo, Ohio. After she raised her family she went back to school and became a Registered nurse. She lived her life humbly, loving to her family and friends and faithful to her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Lake Leon Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband Lee Hornsby of Eastland, Texas. Daughter: Ronda Garrett and husband Doug of Allen, Texas. Sons: Ray Hornsby and wife Chris of Cisco, Texas and Roger Hornsby of Eastland, Texas.

Grandchildren: Sharelyn Drummonds and husband Calvin, Jacob Hornsby and wife Morgan, Mason Hornsby, Paislee Valdez and husband Michael, Jessica Garrett and Madeline Garrett, Jeff Peterson and wife Susie, and nine great-grandchildren.
