Charles Courtney

Charles Courtney, 81, of Cisco formerly of Abilene passed from this life Friday May 11, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday May15 at The Mountain Top Church in Cisco. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1PM until 2 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Romney Cemetery  12 miles south of Cisco on Highway 183.

Charles was born December 24, 1936 in Cisco. He was the son of Aaron Jesse and Ina Mae (Weathers) Courtney. He attended Cisco Schools and was a veteran of the United States Army. Charles married Dixie Lee Allison on December 24, 1969 and they made their home in Abilene where he owned and operated Courtney Tree Service. When they retired they moved to their cabin on Lake Cisco.

Charles is survived by his wife Dixie of Cisco; Nephews Rusty Golden and wife Sharon of Leander, Terry Golden, and Mike Golden both of Austin.  Proceeding in death were his parents and a sister Helen (Mickey) Golden
