Dixie Marilyn Crosby
1933-2018
Dixie Marilyn (Hansen) Crosby went peacefully to heaven on Saturday, May 26, 2018.
Dixie was born in New Castle, Texas on February 5, 1933 to Albert and Lillian (Gorr) Hansen. Dixie went through the Cisco school system from elementary through high school. After graduation, she went to Cisco Jr. College where she met the love of her life, Lonnie Crosby. They were married on June 22, 1951 in the family backyard in Cisco. They were married for 42 years and had three children; Brenda, Cindy and Russell.
While Dixie and Lonnie lived in Snyder, she loved playing golf and bridge with her friends. They moved to New Deal in 1975 where she worked as a Migrant Aide until 1982. Cisco ended up being their home once again. She was home. She was a Title 1 aide for Cisco ISD for 27 years before retiring. She was very active in her church at First Christian Church Cisco.
Dixie was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Lonnie.
Survivors include two daughter, Brenda Crosby of Cisco; Cindy and Mack Tubb of Cisco and one son, Russell Crosby and wife Michelle of Lubbock. She had three granddaughters; Brandi Riley and husband Justin of Cisco, Jordan and Loni Jo Crosby of Lubbock. Two great-grandchildren; Brooklyn and Payton Riley of Cisco. Dixie also is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Lee of Cisco and Jeannette Flood of Abilene along with many nieces and nephews and very close friends.
Visitation will be at Kimbrough Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29th. The services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 30th. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
