Bruce Henry Smith

Bruce Henry Smith, 74, left his earthly home to join his loved ones in Glory January 6, 2024 at Medical City surrounded by family.

He was born September 30, 1949 to Floyd and Juanita (Hooper) Smith of Cisco. He was the oldest of five children. Bruce graduated Cisco High school with his lifelong friends in the "Mighty Seniors '69!" He later returned to CJC for his Associate Degree in Fire Sciences graduating with his sons in 2002. He married Diana Bradshaw June 1, 1979. They made their home in Cisco.

Bruce spent many years working in the Texas oilfield. He joined the Cisco VFD as a volunteer in the 1980's and later went to the Fire Academy in Abilene to become a paid firefighter and EMT. He loved the community and started his volunteer journey not only with the fireworks but also his favorite role as Santa while he was still in high school.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, his love Diana and his daughter in love Karen.

He is survived by his daughter Christy and Rolan Bonnet and their son Robert, son Charles Smith and his son Noah, son Timothy and Shanna Smith and their son Alex, numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

There will be a celebration of life at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Cisco.

Those who wish to honor his legacy may make donations to the Cisco VFD or the Cisco Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Fund.
