Clinton Marsh "Papa Clint" Lovelace

Clinton Marsh “Papa Clint” Lovelace passed peacefully on April 15, 2026, at his home. He was born on February 6, 1954, in Ranger, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of the Eastland area. He graduated from Eastland High School and built a life rooted in hard work, service, and deep love for his family. He had always said he wanted to be at home, and that is where he was.

Clint found his greatest peace at home, surrounded by the land he loved and the family he cherished.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

Clint dedicated much of his life to serving others. As a young man, he became an Eagle Scout and continued that commitment by investing in the lives of youth through the Boy Scouts, where he was an active and devoted leader. He also trained dogs for search and rescue, using his skills to help others in times of need.

He worked for Ebba Iron, where he was one of the last remaining original employees who helped start the company, retiring after an incredible 50 years of service. Clint was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and loyalty.

Clint had a deep love for the outdoors. His greatest passion was his hunting property, Lovelace Wildlife Management Ranch, also known as Lonesome Dove Kennels. There he spent countless hours working the land, training dogs, and enjoying the quiet life he loved. He also enjoyed woodworking, creating with his hands and leaving behind pieces that will be treasured.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Willene Nisbett Lovelace. They shared 22 years together, and married September 15, 2018. She was truly the love of his life.

He is also survived by his daughter, Toni DaNelle Weston, and her husband, Robert; William and Tammy Blount; Timothy Blount; and Matthew and Maggie Adams; his sister, Darlene Galbraith of Florida; and he also held a special place in his heart for Syntra Parris.

Clint was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and other loved ones who welcomed him home.

Clint will be remembered for his quiet strength, his servant’s heart, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. To his family, he was simply “Papa Clint,” a steady presence, a teacher, and a man who loved deeply.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home.  There will be a private family gathering at a later time.
