Donald James Wende

Donald James Wende, 67, of Cisco was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on December 30, 2020.

Donald was born October 3, 1953 in Cisco, TX to Alvin Paul Wende and Laura Annie (Weise) Wende.

He was baptized on November 8, 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church in Cisco and was confirmed in 1968 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. 

He attended school in Cisco and graduated in 1972.  Donald married Avelon (Wells) on August 31, 1974 in Rising Star, TX and they lived their entire married life in Cisco celebrating 46 years this past August.

Don was employed by HARDWICK LPG of Ranger for over 30 years as a propane delivery driver.  He enjoyed working with his customers and became attached to many of the older ones.  He also enjoyed working on his farm with his cattle and goats. 

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Avelon of Cisco.  One sister Marilyn Fleming of Cisco, brother Melvin Wende and wife Lynda of Canyon Lake, TX.  Four nephews: Brian Fleming and wife Anna of Richardson, TX, Brad Fleming and wife Christy of Cisco, Larry Wende and Wife Kim of Spring, TX and Lyle Wende of San Antonio, TX.  One niece, Sandra Parsley and husband Gary of Midland, TX and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday,  January 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1711 Conrad Hilton, Cisco, TX.  Officiated by Rev. Clyde Kieschnick and Chaplin David Stevens.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Private Internment will be at Redeemer Luther Cemetery. 

Family requests that memorial gifts be made the Hendrick Hospice, 1651 Pine St. Abilene, TX 79601.

Funeral services will be under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.
