Eddie McMillan Obituary

Eddie Mac McMillan passed away September 7, 2020 after a long battle with kidney failure.

Eddie was born on March 15, 1931 to Lafayette Edgar and Delores Angus McMillan in Thurber, Texas. He was raised in Caddo, Texas and graduated high school in Breckenridge, Texas, where he was a proud Buckaroo! He then attended Odessa College, where he played football. Eddie joined the Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War. He was a Staff Sgt. and an engine specialist. During his service, he received the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal of Good Conduct, the Presidential unit citation medal and the United Nations Service Medal. After ending his military service in 1955, he attended North Texas where he played football. After graduating, he worked for T & P Coal & Oil for many years before becoming the State Farm Insurance Agent in Cisco, Texas in 1970 until his retirement.

Eddie was a Master Mason for 50 plus years in Cisco. He was a long time Lions Club Member and served as District Governor. His passion was to raise money for the Texas Lions Club Camp for crippled children.

Eddie was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Eddie loved spending time at the farm riding his tractors. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Yvonne Offield McMillan, his parents, sisters Wanda Lewis and Hope Ray, sons Franklen and Lee McMillan.

Eddie is survived by his son, Bret, daughter- in-law Angie Owens McMillan, grandson Nathaniel Lee and wife Kelly, granddaughter Whitney Ann McMillan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Ashton, Makenna, Jackson, and Brooklynn McMillan. Nephews and cousins, Sister-in-law Jennifer Offield.

The family would like to thank interim hospice, especially Stacie, who went above and beyond helping with Eddie the past 2 years. Family suggest any donations may be made to the Lion’s Club or Cisco Nutrition Program. Eddie will be sorely missed by everyone who knew his boisterous personality.
