Ethel was a shining light in the lives of all who met her. A Nurse for 30 years, Ethel worked in Baytown at Humana Hospital in Labor and Delivery and Abilene Regional and Hendrick Medical Center also in Labor and Delivery. Music and Faith were central to her, and she loved to play the piano and sing, surrounded by her family and friends. Ethel was also a Master Gardener and could make anything grow in the sandy loam of her Nimrod farm. She will be remembered for her beautiful voice, fantastic flower beds, her shining spirit, and love for her family and friends. Ethel is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 40 years Mike Collier, her father Cyrel Magnus, and mother, Marion Aubrey, and son Madison Lane Collier. As per her wishes, Ethel will be cremated, and her ashes spread up under the great oak in the garden with her beloved husband, Michael. A memorial service to celebrate Ethel's life will be held at the time. Family and friends will be notified of the date and time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Cross PlainsPublic Library, so that others may know the joys of reading as she did or to St. Jude Children's Research.
