Ethel Lou Pool

Ethel Lou Pool, 85, of Longview passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, in Carthage, Texas.

Ethel was born January 2, 1939 in Haskell County, TX to Howard A. and Dorothy Lee Turnbow Thackerson.  She was a high school graduate and homemaker. Her hobbies included flowers and gardening.

She married John Calvin Pool, who preceded her in death January 9, 2015.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Buena Kay Cummings, her parents Howard and Dorothy, and a brother, Howard Thackerson.

Survivors include her son John Howard Pool and wife Lori of Longview; grandchildren Christina Renee Pool, John Cody Pool and Austin Wendell Pool, all of Longview; and a great grandchild, Lillian Katherine Denton of Longview.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 AM Friday, February 23, 2024, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home. Services will follow at 10:00 AM in the Kimbrough Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
