Freda Janell "Jan" Lane

Freda Janell Lane, 77, left this life Monday, May 8, 2023, surrounded by family at her home in Cisco.

Jan, as she was known to friends and family, was born December 15, 1945 in Anson, Texas to Elmo and Freda Isbell Burleson.  She married Bobby Lynn Lane, Sr. on December 23, 1961.  In 1983, she graduated top of her class from Hendrick Nursing School, and served as an LVN for 17 years.  She had a heart for working with medically fragile children.

She loved her family! Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching sports, so much that she thought she was part of the Clyde and Cisco Coaching Staff. She was known for giving refs and umpires "a run for their money". She enjoyed watching WWE and creating her own DIY projects.  

She was many things to people around her.  She was love of Bob's life, and was her family's rock...she was her parents' angel, best friend to her sister and brother, the biggest fan to her grandchildren, and she was a hero to her children. Her favorite titles were Gran, Mama and Mama Lane.  She will be greatly missed, but continues to live on in the lives of the people who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Lynn Lane Sr., son Bobby Lynn Lane Jr., sister Molly Beth Appleby, grandson Travis Allen Lane, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law.

Jan is survived by her children, Randy Lane and wife Amy of Abilene, James Lane and wife Marque of Conroe, and RaDonna Burleson and husband Chris of Cisco; grandchildren Casey Lane and wife Intazar, Cody Lane, Courtney Lane, Kyle Lane, Cassidy Draper and husband Heath, Kiley Lane, Cameron Burleson, Kyler Burleson, Caden Burleson, and Misty Burton and husband Travis; great-grandchildren Kanzy, Kaylee, Skylar, Rainy, Khloe, Tucker, Faith and Pyper; sister Nancy Freeman and husband Grant; brother Rusty Burleson and wife Deb; and sisters-in-law Bonnie Whitaker and husband Dale, and Ernie Mae Lane Bint.

Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church Cisco, with Steven Forester officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Eula Cemetery near Clyde.
