Gary Wayne Harris, DDS

Dr. Gary W. Harris, DDS, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the age of 76.

Gary was born September 18, 1948 in Ranger to Weldon Wayne and Alma Lois Thomas Harris.  He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and Cisco Jr. College, and then completed his education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, becoming a Doctor of Dental Surgery.  He began his career in Dentistry in Cisco in 1983.

Gary married Martha Sue White in March of 1969 and  they had three children. They were  married 54 years before she preceded him in death in September of 2023. He was the most loving and caring husband, father, papaw, brother and friend.

Gary served on the Board of Regents of Cisco Junior College.  He had many hobbies, including astronomy, attending air shows, working on his 1967 Mustang, reading science fiction books, driving around in his truck with his German Shepherds and walking his land looking for fossils and arrowheads.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon Wayne and Alma Lois Thomas Harris and his wife Martha Sue White Harris.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Harris and wife Julia of Cisco; daughter Nicole Gray and husband Steve of Arlington and grandsons Weston and Brayden; daughter Whitney Carney and husband Keith of Arlington and granddaughters Harper and Hallie.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home, followed by services at 3:00 PM in the Kimbrough-Jacobs Chapel.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
