Gerrie Cooper

Gerrie Cooper, 77, of Rising Star passed away Tuesday March 2 at Hendrick Hospice Center.  Services were Saturday March 6, 2021 at Rising Star Baptist Church with burial at Long Branch Cemetery in Rising Star.   She was born on January 31, 1944 in Muleshoe, Texas to Ulysses and Nell McAlister Cooper.  She was a longtime beautician and a member of the Union Center Baptist Church.  She lived most of her life in Rising Star, and she loved the Lord, her boys, family and most of all her grandkids.   She is survived by her sons Damon and wife Ginny of Rowlett, David and wife Kim of Rising Star, sister Ginger Witcher and husband Albert of Waco, grandkids Rocky Montoney and Zoe Montoney, Jeff Montoney and wife Lauren, Chance Cooper and wife Madeline, Michelle Cooper and Tyler Cooper.  Great Grandkids Finnley Montoney, Blakely Montoney, Mackenzie Montoney and Corbin Cooper who will arrive in May.  Nephew Mark Witcher and wife Ann, nieces Leah Teague and husband Ted, Melissa Sorelle, and Tucy Castor and many great nieces and nephews.
