Martha Gloria (Pippen) Turner 98, of Cisco was called to her Eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning June 10, 2022. Gloria was born February 16, 1924 in Callahan County, near Cisco, Texas. Gloria attended Cisco schools and Cisco Junior College. Gloria married James Howard Turner, May 3, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1996.
Gloria was retired from State government, serving six years as executive secretary to Governor Dolph Briscoe and two years in Governor Bill Clements office and later, was executive secretary to three Secretaries of State, David Dean, John Fainter, and Myra McDaniel’s.
After retirement, Gloria and Howard moved back to Cisco. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and 42 and flying out of the State to visit the grandchildren in California, Arizona and Florida and by car to Fredericksburg.
Gloria is survived by Sons James Howard Turner Jr. and wife Linda. David Otis Turner and wife Beverly. Robert Michael Turner and wife Debbie and Daughter Carol Ann Turner Weinrich and husband Keith.
Grandchildren: Amy Turner Bergstrom and husband Jason; David Turner and wife Christine; Madison Marvets and husband Andrew; Elizabeth Weinrich Horsley and husband Michael; Jamie Turner Cherpitel and husband Adam, Steven Weinrich,Ted Weinrich, Natasha Turner Freels, Natalie Turner, and Tiffany Turner Schwartz.
Great Grandchildren: Anna, James, Sarah, Ava, Owen, Ellie, Elijah,and Jane.
Brother: David Pippen
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Winnie Pippen, her husband James Howard Turner, a son, Ted Turner and Sisters: Glenna Reeves, Betty Williams, Carole Pyburn, and Kitty Stovall Pippen.
Visitation will be following the Memorial Service
