Gloria Jean “Nanny” Hill

Gloria Jean “Nanny” Hill of Terrell, Texas passed from this life during the early morning hours Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the age of 75.

Gloria was born March 29, 1947 in Cisco to Darris and Margret Boatman McGough. She graduated from Mesquite High School. She married Grady Hill April 10, 1973, and the couple was married almost 50 years before he preceded her in death in 2019.  Gloria was a devoted mother and “Nanny”…in fact, everyone called her their “Nanny”.  

She attended Church of the Nazarene. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, fishing, and donating to charities. She was happiest with her husband, Grady and her family.  She absolutely loved God and taught the love of God to her children and grandchildren. She was always praying for the welfare of her friends, church members and family. She was a devoted wife and mother to all who needed her. She had absolute faith in God and left that legacy to her family.

Gloria was the most wonderful wife and mother, always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself. She was a kind, God fearing woman who loved her family deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Grady Hill, Levi Gibson, Elijah Gibson and Hanson Elijah Ray. 

Survivors include her younger sister, Karen Chapman of Abilene; daughter Chere Thomas and son Ricky Hill, both of Terrell; grandchildren Jeremie, Stormy and Victor of the Dallas/Fort Worth area; great-grandchildren Breeanna, Jeremiah, Grady, Malachi, Kylie, Kiera, Savanah, Draygan, and Kyla; great great-grandchild Haiyven Elizabeth Ray

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery, 200 Front Street in Cisco, with Pastor Norita Sieffert of Faith Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, Terrell, Texas officiating.
