• Jerry Lewis Jeffcoat, 77, of Cisco, Texas passed from this earth on Thursday, July 6th at Texas Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 9, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Cisco officiated by Reverend Danny Pelton. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 p.m. until service time. •Jerry was born April 5, 1940 in Kermit, Texas to Ollie Clifford Jeffcoat and Johnie May Jeffcoat. •On August 30, 1959, he married Helen Davene Jones at the First Baptist Church in Rule, Texas. (They would have been married 58 years on August 30th). Jerry was a member of the Board of The Cisco Housing Authority, served on the Cisco City Council for several years, was Past President of Cisco Lion’s Club, President of Cisco Little League, organized Cisco’s first Flag Football & coached one of the teams, He was on the Church Council at Cisco First United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed singing in church choirs wherever his wife directed. • His Dad worked in the oilfield and they moved around a lot. He went to 13 different schools before he graduated from Rule High School in 1958, Places he lived were Cisco, Aspermont, Graham, Rule, Abilene, Kermit, and Coleman. He graduated from Rule High School, attended Cisco Junior College, and Texas Chiropractic College even though he did not pursue that career. His first job was with a service station on the corner of 8th Street and Ave. D. He worked for Mrs, Baird’s Bread, then went to work with Transwestern Pipeline as a chemist in Fort Stockton, was transferred to Kermit as gas plant operator and then to Karnes City, Trinidad, Springtown and then to Pueblo in Cisco in 1979 where he was plant superintendent. (He eventually worked for Enserch Exploration which is now Umbridge) After his retirement in 2000, he and his brother Don, began a business selling redwood swingsets in Fort Worth for Backyard Adventures (where his son worked in Amarillo). In 2003, Jarrod joined him and Don they began to manufacture their own units and called it Backyard Fun Factory. It is a very successful business today and sells them throughout the USA. Custom Forts and backyard play areas are their specialty. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 308 West 8th Street, Cisco, Texas 76437. Jerry loved reading and had a large personal library of books and playing “Progressive Rummy.” His hobbies included watching old westerns on TV and wood working. He could fix anything! Jerry always had a smile and took as much time as he needed to visit with people and never met a stranger. He was especially fond of infants and toddlers, and they naturally loved him. Survived by His wife, Davene Jeffcoat of Cisco, Children: Laura Jeffcoat of Gandia, Spain, Jana Huggins and her husband, Shannon of Lampasas, Jarrod and his wife Angie of Justin, Texas and seven grandchildren: Jami Lyn and Nakoa Eli of Bellevue, Washington, Kaci Huggins and Jason Robinson of Lubbock, Courtney and Champ Hardesty of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Alaina Huggins of Lampasas, and Cassidy Huggins of Baird, Jones and wife, Paula of Denton, and Leah of Justin. Three Great Grandchildren; Cera Head of San Angelo, Audrey Mae Hardesty of Wahiawa, Hawaii and Kevin Clay Fowler of Baird. one brother and wife, Jimmie and Donna Jeffcoat of Abilene; Nephew Jeff and wife Audrey of Cisco. Grandnephew, Dr Earl Ragland and wife Rachel of Albuquerque, New Mexico and their children Olivia and Alden; Grandneice, Christy Tidwell and husband Bryan of San Antonio and daughter Greta. Nephews: Cristopher Lynch of Abilene and Brett Lynch of Breckenridge. He was preceeded in death by his Mom, Johnie Webb, Stepfather Cloris Webb, Dad, Ollie Jeffcoat brother, Don and sister LaDell. Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmie Walker, Buddy Waters, Lee Dycus, Sean Schaefer, Christian Schaefer, Jim Webb, Robert Dunning, Tom Terry, Rodney Callaway, Bill Smith, Dennis Goosen and Jerry Davis, Richard Hill, Don Wallace and Jim Wheeler.
