Jerry Otis Matthews

Jerry Otis Matthews 82, of Cisco was called home to be with his Lord and Savior May 7, 2019. As per his wishes his body will be cremated. Memorial service to honor his life will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Cisco, Texas officiated by Reverend Cody Favor.

Jerry was born September 23, 1936 in Haskell, Texas to Otis Millard and Ruby (Weaver) Matthews. He owned and operated Matthews Group Home for children in Weatherford until his retirement. He then spent his time farming and ranching. Jerry married Myrna Jean Cooper on May 17, 1959 in Grandfield, Oklahoma.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Myrna of Cisco, Texas. Son, Mel Matthews and wife Vera of Cisco. Daughter, Julie Sharp of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Marla Matthews Erwin and husband Tye of Cisco. Cy Matthews of Cisco. Chance Bruno of Austin, Texas .Chase Bruno and Hunter Bass of Edmond, Oklahoma. Jewel Sharp of North Richland Hills, Texas. Barbara Matthews of Florida. Crystal Matthews Morgan and husband Jake of Cisco and Zeb Matthews of Austin, Texas.

Great Grandchildren: Parker Bruno, Tyce Erwin, Thad Erwin, Lane Morgan, Parker Morgan and Logan Morgan.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and son Wade Matthews.
