Loretta Laverne Donham, 87, died unexpectedly July 9, 2024 at an Abilene hospital.
She was born March 5, 1937 in Callahan County, the daughter of James Hollis and Fannie Mae McKinney. Loretta graduated from Cisco High School, Class of 1955. She married the love of her life, W.T. Donham, that same year. They celebrated 69 years of marriage in May.
Loretta, an administrative assistant, retired from Cisco Junior College in 1995. Loretta's social activities were centered around her children. She served as leader for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, 4-H, and numerous stock show activities. She never missed a dance recital. As of late, she enjoyed spending time with her great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Wilburn McKinney, a son, Tommy Donham, and a granddaugher, Rachel Evatt.
Surviving are her husband, W.T. Donham of Cisco; sister, Lola Wende of Cisco; son William Donham of Stephenville; daughters Darlene Hightower of Cisco and Betty Evatt and husband Kirk of Houston; four grandchildren, Russell Evatt and wife, Kathy, Ashley Donham and son, Cash, Greg Donham, and Alexis Hightower.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024. at Oakwood Cemetery. She will be missed by many.
