Michael Dee Donohue

Michael Dee Donohue, 74, of De Leon, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Avir of Cisco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Monday, July 6, 2026, at Romney Cemetery, officiated by Rev. B. Payne.

Michael was born on April 9, 1952, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Otis Glenn Donohue and Beula Joyce Pharr Luebbe. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Texas, went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree, and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career with Boeing Aircraft, retiring after 24 years of dedicated service.

For more than twelve years, Michael was a faithful member of De Leon United Pentecostal Church, where he became a beloved and vital part of the church family. His faith was not merely something he professed—it was evident in the way he lived. He faithfully accompanied his former pastor to cancer treatments, offering quiet strength and steadfast support during a difficult season. Those who met Michael outside the church often remarked that they could tell he was a genuine Christian by the kindness, humility, and compassion he showed to everyone he encountered.

Even after illness prevented him from attending church regularly, Michael’s concern for others never diminished. He faithfully kept a prayer list, regularly interceding for those in need, and despite his own physical weakness, he willingly loaned his Ford Ranger to someone he barely knew so they could get to work. Having endured many hardships throughout his own life, Michael developed a deep compassion for others and loved people without judgment. His life was a testimony to Christ’s love, marked by selfless service, unwavering faith, and a sincere desire to help others.

Michael will also be remembered for his quiet wit and dry sense of humor. Though he became more reserved in his later years, those who spent time with him treasured his companionship. His sister, Pamela, lovingly shared that he always made life better simply by being there. She fondly remembered how he never forgot her birthday and the laughter they shared together. He was deeply loved and will be missed forever.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ottis Glenn Donohue, and his brother, Gary Donohue.

He is survived by his mother, Beula Joyce Luebbe of Baker City, Oregon; his son, Rocky Glenn Donohue of Seattle, Washington; his daughter, Heidi Donohue of Evansville, Indiana; his sister, Pamela Humber of Wichita Falls, Texas; his sister, Gewnett Neff of Baker City, Oregon; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Barrett Payne, who was not only Michael’s pastor but, as Michael often said, “he’s been a good friend.” His faithful love, care, and friendship meant more than words can express.

Michael’s legacy is one of faith, kindness, humility, and compassion. He lived a life devoted to serving Christ and caring for others, leaving an example that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
