Michael Ray Moody,73, of the Nimrod Community of Eastland County died Thursday September 17, 2020 as the result of an accident. Mike was born June 25, 1947 in San Marcos, Texas the son of Arthur Ray and Helen Mae (Moon) Moody. He served his country as a citizen soldier in the Marine Corps Reserve. Mike and Wanda married on December 23,1969. They continued to pursue their passion for education and both earned their Masters degree in Biology. Wanda also earned an additional Masters degree in English. They were lifelong educators and left lasting imprints on countless lives through the years, both students and faculty alike. Over the course of their careers they taught in San Antonio ISD, Colorado City ISD, Ranger ISD, Cisco ISD and Cisco College. Mike stopped teaching in 1988 while Wanda continued on to an impressive 50 years of teaching. They were blessed to be at each other’s side for 51 years of marriage. They left this world together on September 17, 2020 the same way they lived their lives side by side.
They are survived by two sons Wayne Moody and wife Karla of Covington, Texas and Jeffrey Moody of Wheaton Maryland. 3 grandchildren Brazos Moody, Jordan Moody and Jarred Shaffer and wife Madison. 1 great-grandchild Wrenlee Swayde Shaffer
They were preceded in death by Wanda’s father and mother Leslie and Vivian Hubbard of Early Texas
Mikes father and mother Ray and Helen Moody of Nimrod Texas.
