Michael Dale Moore

Michael Dale Moore was born Christmas Eve, 1954, in Sweetwater, Texas. Michael was adopted by Audy and Georgie Moore, and was raised in and around west Texas. Michael graduated with his bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University and married his high school sweetheart, Helen. He later received an MFA from Texas Tech University’s Theatre Department. Michael worked for many years as a teacher in Texas and Tennessee. He is the author of three Theatre Education books. His passions were theatre, photography, writing, and the Alamo. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Audy and Georgie Moore, and his daughter, Mary-Nancy Smith. Michael leaves behind his wife of almost 50 years, Helen Moore, and his daughter, Jenni Langston, both of Abilene, Texas. He also leaves behind 2 step-children, 3 beloved grandchildren, a dearly loved son-in-law, a host of friends and family, and hundreds of former students.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2023, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home, 300 W 9th Street in Cisco, followed by graveside services at Oakwood Cemetery.
