Nedelene Speegle of Cisco went to be with her Savior Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the age of 81.
Nedelene was born January 30, 1940 in Paris, Texas to Leander Paul and Bennie Myrll Barber Pitcock. She attended Forsan High School and after graduation married John Wayne Speegle February 6, 1959 in Forsan. She and Wayne were members of First Baptist Church of Cisco.
She earned her undergraduate degree from McMurry University, and went on to receive a Master’s Degree from Hardin-Simmons University and education certifications from Texas Tech University. She worked for Big Spring ISD as a second grade teacher, home bound teacher, counselor, and diagnostician. She also worked at the Region 5 Education Service Center, and served as Director of Special Education at Nederland ISD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leander Paul and Bennie Myrll Pitcock; sisters Francis Louise Pitcock and May Myrll Pitcock: and brothers Billy Ray Pitcock and Harold Lloyd Pitcock.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Wayne; daughter Jennie Ferguson and husband Steve of Cisco; granddaughters Ella Boyle and husband Peter of Austin, and Hannah Kate Lambka and husband Jordan of Sarasota, Florida; and great-grandsons Noah Wayne Lambka and Gabriel Conrad Lambka of Sarasota, Florida.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Kimbrough Funeral Home, 300 W. 9th Street in Cisco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Cody Favor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
