Rex Graham Obituary

Early on the beautiful Spring day of April 8, 1961 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas, a precious baby boy was born to Ronald Glynn and Phyllis Berry Graham.  He was greatly anticipated by his 20 month old brother, Beau, as a future playmate.
Rex was a happy baby never waking up crying but cooing with a smile on his face.  Several family members commented they had never seen such a happy baby.
During his growing up and school years he assumed everyone was his friend because he considered them his friends.  Rex always had a smile on his face. His only time he wasn’t smiling was when he was asleep.
Rex graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1979.  He played football –a tall 6’3 ½”.  When he was a junior the coach wanted him to play varsity but he said no, he wanted to remain JV playing center.  It was required seniors play varsity so he quit saying it was no longer a game.  The school and coaches took football too seriously.  So he got contacts an joined the school chorus and drama club.
Rex received a music scholarship to Cisco Junior College.  Music and Books-his two loves.  While living in Marble Falls he never missed a concert in Austin. Rex was a reader, a speed reader.  When new books came in the house he begged his brothers to hurry their reading because he was ready for their books.
Rex held jobs around Marble Falls always staying with his employer 10-15 years, a loyal and dependable worker never missing work or being late to his job.
Rex has been near death three times from his Diabetes, a house fires and a tornado but God saved him each time.  Because of his diabetes, in 2013, he had to come live with his mother in Cisco. He has been a joy and blessing every single day, particularly the years he’s lived with his mother.
Because of his diabetes he was not able to donate his major organs, but was able to give bone, tissue, bone marrow and skin for grafts.
Survivors are his mother, Phyllis Graham, Brothers Glynn (Beau) Graham and wife Hollis of Cedar Creek, Brother Guy Graham of Austin, uncle Ralph Berry and wife Wanda, aunts Nalda Berry Steagall, San Angelo, Robbie Berry Pierson, Mineral Wells, Carolyn Berry Little, Ballinger, Jewel Graham Gi  Groves, Texasl. Cousins Penny Berry Matthews, Shannon Berry, Jack Steagall, Judy Steagall Stovall, Carol Pierson Holly, Barry Pierson, Mike Gil, Russell Gil, Rhonda Graham, Rayna Graham Higgins, Reagan Graham Shepard, Brad Graham and a plethora of friends.
