Richard C. "Catfish" Thames

Richard C. “Catfish” Thames of Eastland passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the age of 86.

Richard was born August 20, 1937 in Cisco to Richard B. and Marvis Delight Owings Thames.  He graduated from Cisco High School and later served in the Army National Guard. He married Doris Ann McDonald July 3, 1959. 

He was an assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, and loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and a sister, Sandra Agnew.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Thames of Eastland; sons Ken and Mark Thames; daughter Michelle Harvill; grandchildren Philip Thames, Ben Thames, Jeff Harvill, Christine Harvill, Brooke Harvill and step-granddaughter Raven Anchondo; and sister Alura Lee.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2024, in the Kimbrough-Jacobs Chapel, with Stephen Forester officiating.  Burial will be in Nimrod Cemetery.
