Rosa (Soto) Escobedo

Rosa Escobedo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 79.  She was born October 8, 1945 in Eastland to the late Fidel Duran Soto and Angela Rosales Jimenez.

Rosa married the love of her life, Elmer Escobedo, on January 24, 1969, and together they built a life centered on faith, family and love.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; son Andy Escobedo; sister Gloria Boyd; and brothers Benjiman Jimenez, Tommy Jimenez and Bernie Soto.

She is survived by son Dale Escobedo and wife Tona; daughter-in-law Michelle Escobedo; granddaughters Copeland Singleton and husband Rick, and Bailey Payne and husband Douglas; great grandsons Hayden, Maverick, Brady and Casey Singleton, and Cru Payne. She is also survived by Tona's children, daughter Dalas Vaughn and son Pecos Vaughn, who she loved as her own.

Rosa is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Polo Jimenez and Earnest Soto, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Rosa had a gift for sewing and quilting, sharing her skills generously with her community . She worked for many years at Russell Newman and Southwest Emblem, where her craftsmanship and dedication were well known. She took great pride in her work and found joy in creating beauty with her hands.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home.  A memorial service celebrating Rosa's life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Cisco.

Rosa will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kind heart, strong faith and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
