John Wayne Speegle of Cisco went to be with his Savior, on April 20, 2022, at the age of 85.
Wayne was born September 28, 1936, in the Dan Horn Community near Scranton, Texas to Johnie Woodrow and Lou Ella Douglas Speegle. He graduated from Scranton High School and afterwards attended Cisco Junior College.
Wayne enlisted in the Navy on 5 October 1957 and served honorably until 21 March 1962. During his time in service, Wayne was assigned to The U.S.S. Skagit where he rose to the rank of Boiler Technician Petty Officer 3rd class.
He married Nedelene Pitcock February 6, 1959, in Forsan, Texas. Wayne and Nedelene were members of First Baptist Church of Cisco where he served as a deacon.
Wayne worked at the Cosden-Fina Refinery in Big Spring and the Fina Refinery in Port Arthur for 30 years. After retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor in 1992, he moved back to Cisco where he was a farmer/rancher for another 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Nedelene; parents, Johnie and Lou Ella Speegle; and brothers James Douglas Speegle and Robert Bruce Speegle.
Survivors include his daughter Jennie Ferguson and husband Steve of Cisco; granddaughters Ella Boyle and husband Peter of Austin; Hannah Kate Lambka and husband Jordan of Sarasota, Florida; and great-grandsons Noah Wayne Lambka and Gabriel Conrad Lambka of Sarasota, Florida.
